Shedd Aquarium Ticketing Kiosk

Shedd Aquarium Ticketing Kiosk

As a part of Shedd Aquarium’s Centennial Commitment, a new entryway and ticketing pavilion was built. In Shedd’s new entrance, there are 7 self-serve ticketing kiosks for guests to purchase tickets.

My team was tasked with the visual and user experience design and user testing of the new ticketing kiosks. This kiosk was designed to be fully bilingual and ADA accessible. We conducted 6 rounds of user testing to ensure ease of use for our guests. We developed a working prototype in Figma to be used in user testing.

Overview of Kiosk Wireframe

My team developed a wireframe in Figma of all ticketing kiosk pathways before beginning the visual design. This involved working closely with the Application Development team and Guest Relations team.

Purchase pathway

Below are the layouts of screens along the basic General Admission purchase pathway, from when the user approaches the kiosk, to selecting tickets and ticket type, add-on selection, and checkout. In addition to the General Admission pathway, the user can select any ticket type or add-on show.
